Set of 4 Teapots

White stoneware. 2019.

These are my first attempts at creating teapots, and truly a learning process for me. I was still in the process of relearning how to throw, having not done so in nearly a year and a half.

I used white stoneware, specifically BMIX 5, to make these teapots, which I had never used before. Because of this, it was much more difficult to relearn throwing than I had anticipated, especially because white stoneware is much more temperamental and less forgiving than grey stoneware.

My intention was to create different feeling with the simple surface design of each piece. However, this project was intended to be a learning exercise for myself as I learned to throw again.
